LAM DONG PROVINCE

This very special and unusual micro-lot comes from 38 smallholder Arabica producers living in Vietnam's Central Highlands. All of the farms on a terrain located at 1,400 metres above sea level, which helps contribute to this coffee's exceptional cup. Mercanta is the only speciality importer able to offer this high quality, speciality micro-lot and one of the few (if not only) offering coffees of this quality from Vietnam. Vietnam is a new origin for us. We are proud to be investing in sustainably grown and priced speciality-grade Arabica in a region with great potential for the future.

This micro-lot has been carefully selected as exceptional quality by our partner in Vietnam, who represents and provides support for several hundred small-scale Arabica producers throughout the Lam Dong province in Vietnam's Central Highlands. Each farmer owns from 1 to 1.5 hectares, and most rely upon coffee as their sole source of income.

Farmers who produce this coffee have received extensive training on improving all aspects of their production, from cultivation to business practices. All data regarding cultivation is entered regularly into 'farmers' field books', reviewed and discussed regularly with a field advisor and specialist. At the end of the year, the data is analysed. Feedback is given to each farmer in farmers' field schools to more accurately complete cost-benefit analyses and better understand and implement the necessary steps to continue improving their production. This exceptionally rigorous approach to training and production practices (virtually unheard of elsewhere n the country) has resulted in an exceptional coffee that whispers of great things to come from this origin.

After careful cultivation and harvesting, the coffee is centrally processed at our partner's wet mill, where processing is managed with a scrupulous eye to detail and quality control.

When you buy your speciality coffee from Lalico Coffee, you support small farms producing high-quality coffees. Many benefit from Fairtrade Federation and Rainforest Alliance initiatives that protect workers' rights and the environment.

Our coffee is hand-roasted to order for you. I guarantee it hasn't been sitting on a supermarket shelf for weeks, getting stale! Every batch is individually profile roasted with care. Every coffee has different characteristics, and therefore its individual profile is replicated, keeping high quality consistent.

Kessy and I would like you to experiment with new flavours from different countries, so we often send free samples with your order for you to enjoy.

Lalico Coffee supplies artisan coffees to individuals, cafés, restaurants and hotels. Please contact us directly for our discounted prices for 6kg and more.
